Ray's Way Driving School & Driver Services

Hi there my name is Ray and I am the proud owner of                                Ray's Way Driving School.

I have been involved in the transport business for most of my life in one way or another. Passing my own driving test on the first attempt back n 1977 at the tender age of 17. Got into motorcycles for a few years but never took my test my dad thought it was to dangerous so I had to wait some thirty years before taking my motorcycle licence again at the first attempt. At the age of 21 I passed my coach drivers PCV again at the first attempt, spending the next 10 years or so as a full-time coach driver, finishing up as a part time driver to this day. Following on from coach driving I joined Royal Mail and spent 25 years progressing through to a delivery office manager. During my time with Royal Mail my duties would include driving a manor of vehicles from small panel vans and transits to 7 tonne lorries. Made redundant several years ago allowed me to take a new direction and decided to become a driving instructor as I have always enjoyed meeting new people and teaching people new skills.

I am based in Ryde Isle of Wight and offer lessons to the immediate area on the west side of the island but can be available to the whole Island if the need arises and there is more than one client around your area, if you are in this circle why not give me a try. I'm a very laid back instructor who can get the most out of each pupil and can cater for all kinds of abilities. We'll be serious when we have to be but we will also have a great deal of fun while you learn to drive.

I have also recently been passed as a MiDAS minibus assessor in conjunction with the Community Transport Association.
